
TOKYO - Chairman of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) looked at Japan's nuclear crisis is a very serious incident that requires international cooperation.
IAEA chairman Yukiya Amano said, he plans to meet with senior Japanese and visit areas hit by the earthquake and tsunami. The earthquake and tsunami had destroyed cut off electricity in nuclear power plant cooling system, triggering a nuclear crisis in Japan.
Amano was accompanied by four members of a team of experts when it issued the statement. It is quoted by the Associated Press on Friday (03/18/2011).
"We saw what happened in Japan as a very serious incident. The international community is very concerned with this issue and it is imperative to work together to overcome this problem, "said Amano.
